Is 8K video better than 4K?

On paper, the benefits of 8k over 4k are clear. The question is, of course, is this rush towards higher and higher resolution makes any sense in quality perception. Well, the perception of quality is quite complex because it depends on the physical characteristics of an image (flow of images) but it is mediated by our eyes and eventually decided by our brain.
